The United Nations Action for Cooperation against Trafficking in Persons (UN-ACT) is a regional project managed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
UN-ACT staff, numbering around 25, work in project offices in each of the capitals of the countries in the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS), and in a regional headquarters located in Bangkok, Thailand.
UN-ACT works with a wide range of partners including UN and affiliated agencies such as ILO, UNICEF, UNODC, IOM, and UN Women; and civil society organisations such as World Vision, Save the Children or ECPAT.
UN-ACT is also working closely with the six GMS countries through the Coordinated Mekong Ministerial Initiative against Trafficking (COMMIT Process). The project functions as the Secretariat to the COMMIT Process.
UN-ACT is funded through cooperative and cost-sharing agreements from governments and international organisations, independent of any United Nations core funding. Current donors to the project include the governments of Norway and Sweden.
